Preparation: Budgeting for your trip
Per House
HWB Site Fee: $300
Due with registration. Amount payes for site selection, use/maintainance of the Annex, Annex improvements, and curtains for house.
Building materials (2006): $3067.07.
Upon receipt of site fees, building materials will be ordered for your group. Materials will be at the Annex for your project dates. House materials will be billed through HWB. Invoices will be sent with a due date just prior to your project start date. Interest will accrue every 30 days as it has in the past. We hope this will reduce confusion for groups and the lumber company. Your prompt payment will be greatly appreciated. Please contact us with any questions. Please note that material costs may fluctuate each year according to lumber costs.
Cement & rebar for the foundation: Approximately $180.
Paid to the Materiales store upon purchase.
Sand: $90 per site. Payable at the Annex
Pre poured cement slab option: Approximately $350
This covers cement, rebar, sand and labor. Payable at the Annex. Must be prearranged with HWB.
At the Annex
Port-a-potties (Banos): $35 per bano, $5 per cleaning per bano
Banos will be ordered for you in the amount of houses you are building + 1.
Water: $1.50 per 5 gallon bottle
A rule of thumb is one bottle per person per week.
Payments for water, sand, banos, and prepoured slabs may be paid to the HWB Project Coordinator at the Annex.
Additional costs to factor in:
Food
Airfare, if flying
Vehicle rental, if necessary
Fuel for vehicles
Mexican insurance for vehicles
Meals in transit

If you are one of the many groups that takes an offering among your team for the orphanage or as a part of your fund raising work for your trip Tony Ralphs would prefer that you do not leave it at the orphanage. You can mail it to HWB with “Orphanage” on the memo line and we will direct all of it to the orphanage.
